As the rumours heat up regarding Hulk’s proposed transfer to Chelsea, another target Leverkusen’s Andre Shurrle has been all but ruled out to a move to Stamford Bridge.
Bayer Leverkusen director Rudi Voller has spoke out today regarding the interest in Andre Schurrle and team mate Lars Bender. He said “We could have pocketed more than €50 million for both players had we sold them, but ‘no’ fell easy to us.We will achieve more with Bender and Schurrle than without them, as they have no equivalent substitutes. I am not afraid of having disgruntled players – these guys have a top character. I will say it again: both of them will be staying here”
This clearly produces another reason why Chelsea are again stepping up their pursuit of Porto forward Hulk. Schurrle was considered a back up option if the Hulk bid failed. But with the Director ruling out a move, it looks set that Chelsea will again concentrate on bringing the Brazilian star to the Bridge.
