Tuesday 24 July
Lots of news today after a day’s break – what teachers wouldn’t give for such long holidays – Torres arrived yesterday in Philadelphia to train with the team ahead of the all stars game tomorrow; another Hazard has signed, this time Eden’s brother Thorgan from Lens in France; loans confirmed today include Ulises Davila to Spanish division two side Sabadell and Milos Lakovic and Matej Delac to the Portuguese top flight and Vitoria Guimaraes.

Wednesday 25 July
MLS All Stars 3:2 Chelsea
A noisy night but a late winner for the All Stars disappointed. John Terry had a good workout but in his attempt to clear a Henry cross he tangled with Chris Wondolowski and the ball fell nicely for the striker for the opener. It clearly spurred John into action as he headed the equaliser from a corner.
Lukaku has a sniff just after the interval but it was mostly the MLS side until just after the hour. Lampard had one effort across goal saved before their ’keeper completely misjudged Ramires’ chip and Frank slotted the loose ball for 1-2.
David Beckham then hoofed the ball aimlessly onto the instep of their winger and the centre was converted for their equaliser. Before the late deflected effort from Eddie Johnson won it for the All Stars to prevent a shoot out.
Ivanovic played the full 90-minutes as the squad get closer to fitness.
The players got straight on a plane to Miami after the match.

Earlier in the day and before the Olympics even started, Chelsea confirmed that Oscar has signed from Internacional. Oscar Dos Santos Emboaba Junior already has six full international caps and is playing in the Olympic competition.

Thursday 26 July
The Olympic flame arrived at the Bridge today as we hear that the road races will go past our famous stadium so we’ll be on the map if only in passing.
In the evening Daniel Sturridge and Ryan Bertrand both played as an innovative, bright and lively Team GB were held to a draw by Senegal we were a little unlucky not to have had a penalty but overall a draw was fair.
Spain with Oriole Romeu a second-half sub were unexpectedly beaten by Japan.
Oscar made more of an impact, creating two as Brazil raced to three up before holding on for 3-2 against Egypt.

Friday 27 July
With a minor sporting event in town all of London’s cameras were pointing the other way as the FA announced that they have charged John Terry over insults he supposedly directed at Anton Ferdinand. They clearly will not give up until they have manufactured a guilty verdict but they have forgotten that the double indemnity laws mean that John cannot be charged with the same offence twice.

Saturday 28 July
Chelsea 0:1 AC Milan
We didn’t exactly set this game alight with just a few half chances to show for the whole evening but we were up against one of the best sides in Italy and one that defended and smothered from front to back.
It might sound strange but this is exactly how Wigan will play us on the opening weekend so we’ll have to be a bit more on our game on the break.
Raul Meireles got his first start of preseason, Torres played 30 minutes and Eden Hazard played his first full game for the Blues moving inside from the flank and playing behind the striker.

Northampton Town 0:2 Chelsea U21
The other squads might be in glamorous locations but the U21 are in impressive form pre-season beating a useful league two side with goals from Alex Kiwomya. The bulk of the squad were back from their short trip to Austria where they lost to 1860 Munich last weekend. Patrick Bamford, Todd Kane and George Saville rejoined after their stint in the States and started this match.

Chelsea U18 0:1 Leo All Stars
The youth team’s tour of Asia wobbled at the beginning as a select Thai side. Their winner came from a corner but we created a hatful of chances in an entertaining second-half.

Sunday 29 July
At the Olympic football Daniel Sturridge scored an exquisite chip in a 3-1 over the United Arab Emirates after old boy Scott Sinclair had given us back the lead.
Oscar scored Brazil’s third in a 3-1 against Belarus but Juan Mata will be going back to Cobham after a few day’s rest as Spain crashed put losing 0-1 to Honduras.
