Chelsea travel to Spain for a showdown clash with Europa League holders Sevilla, knowing a victory would all but assure the Blues finish as Group E winners.
Frank Lampard is set to make six changes to the Chelsea line up vs Sevilla for the trip to southern Spain, but those expected hardly make the Blues XI look weak – the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz are tipped to start.
Speaking ahead of kick off, manager Frank Lampard revealed in the press conference (via Chelsea FC official) that Callum Hudson-Odoi will get his chance having impressed with a goal against Rennes in the last Champions League fixture;
“I have spoken about Callum at different times since I have been in the job and his work-ethic in training and attitude at the minute is bang on. That is reflected in his scoring against Rennes and playing well. He came on against Newcastle and he was bright, he went away with England Under-21s and did well.”
With a hugely congested December ahead, some may expect more rotation seeing as Chelsea have already qualified, but with top spot on the line in Sevilla, it’s unsurprising that Lampard will name an impressive XI on Wednesday, ahead of Leeds at the weekend.
