How Chelsea will line up against Vidi
Goalkeeper: Willy Caballero
Defence: Davide Zappacosta, Andreas Christensen, Ethan Ampadu, Emerson
Midfield: Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, Cesc Fabregas
Attack: Willian, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Alvaro Morata
Chelsea may not have caught the imagination with their Europa League performances, but five wins out of five has been exceptional, and with the group sewn up and the Blues group winners – today’s final game away in Hungary is a chance for the fringe players to shine.
Youth is going to be the main talking point for CFCnet’s predicted Chelsea line up vs Vidi, with Ethan Ampadu to slot into the defence and Callum Hudson-Odoi to join the attack with Alvaro Morata and Willian.
Many of the first XI who overcame Manchester City last weekend have been left in London to rest up and be fresh for the upcoming wave of Premier League matches. Maurizio Sarri spoke to reporters ahead of the match against Vidi to confirm the absentees via Chelsea FC;
“I decided the players who played three matches in six days in the last week had to rest for this match: Kepa, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante and Hazard.
“Then we have three injuries, Kovacic, Cahill and Moses. All the other players are here.”
Taking into account the players who haven’t travelled it’s a pretty easy job for Maurizio Sarri to bring in the youth for this Europa League match with other youngsters Jamie Cumming and Josh McEachran on the bench.
