Monday, July 5. Today was the day that most of our first-team came back from their respective holidays to start their pre-season training for the 2010/11 season. I wonder if the players were really looking forward to their double training sessions to get them back into shape? Included in the first day’s training was our new signing from Liverpool, Yossi Benayoun. Two injured players came back to start pre-season today too – both Michael Essien and Jon Mikel-Obi were put through their paces too. Following on from our new Pro-Contracted players unfortunately, some of our more younger players were not given contracts too. To read the Official Line on the players given contracts and those who have departed the club, click on the link. One of our players given a pro-contract is Josh McEachran. 17-year old Josh helped England win the European Under-17 Championships recently and is a great prospect for the future.

With a new season, it brings a new intake at Academy level. Academy manager Neil Bath and his assistant Jim Fraser give their low-down on the New Recruits. Have a read by clicking the link and getting to know the players, their positions and what Neil Bath and Jim Fraser think of the lads coming in.
