Good Morning Blues and welcome to yet another busy Transfer Centre from CFCnet, as we take a look at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours doing the rounds today and from over night.
First of all, striker Loic Remy has been told he can leave Chelsea, but only if the club can get a replacement first. There has been talk that Patrick Bamford could be the man to fill in as backup, but then he may opt to go back on loan for first team football. Remy is frustrated of his lack of game time and could also go out on loan for game time.
The possibility of a move for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is increasingly likely as the majority of the English press are reporting that Chelsea are to battle both Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the Welsh International, who was unhappy with the sacking of Rafa Benitez.
But it is Chelsea who potentially could be favourites to sign Bale, as they have a player Madrid want themselves in the shape of Eden Hazard. Both players are being talked about for deals worth over £100 million.
Meanwhile, the internet went in to break down mode yesterday as it was reported that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba had made the decision to quit playing and join Chelsea as part of the coaching staff.
His apparent retirement though, was quickly squashed by the man himself via his Twitter account as he thanked everyone for the kind wishes, but insisted no decisions had been made as of yet and he was still discussing it with his current employers, Montreal.
It would be the best signing in a long time if we can get Drogba in as part of the coaching staff, his influence and passion for the club will help immensely as will his experience and knowledge of the game. However, I am not so sure this will happen right now, Drogba wants to keep playing football so it would make sense for him to see out his playing contract in the MLS first and then come back to Chelsea. But it is certainly something that will happen, something that Roman Abramovich wants and something that their is certainly an offer on the table for.
Finally, it has been reported that Pep Guardiola WILL be joining Manchester City as their new Manager in the summer, this seems pretty clear for all. But what is also clear is that Roman Abramovich has wanted Guardiola as the Chelsea Manager for a long time now and let’s face it, probably sacked Jose Mourinho with the view of bringing in Pep this summer.
So with that in mind, reports state that Abramovich will do anything to pip Guardiola from City by offering a blank cheque for his services along with full control over the club and it’s transfers. I am sure Guardiola will want reassurances about his long term spot as well, due to the shocking history of sacking Managers that Abramovich now has. Personally, I think Pep is City bound, and it concerns me that Manuel Pellegrini will then be available and we could end up with him, which would be a bad move in my opinion.
That’s it for now Blues but don’t forget to follow my Twitter here for the very latest Chelsea news -> @cfcneteditor
