Good Evening Blues and welcome to Sunday nights Transfer Centre from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours during the winter transfer window.
Some surprising names have been linked today and even claims of a new signing being a ‘done deal’. After another disappointing result at home to Everton – will the club finally be admitting that there is new blood needed?
First up, Chelsea could be turning their attentions to another English centre half in the search for a John Terry replacement as Everton keep a stronghold on John Stones.
According to The Mirror, Dann could be subjected to an offer from Chelsea that will see him double his wages if he leaves his current club Crystal Palace.
The Paper says that Chelsea have had the 27-year old watched every game so far this season, showing the seriousness of their interest.
Also, it was probably coming eventually as the guy has had such a fantastic couple of seasons and is up there with the most exciting players in the Premier League and world football right now. We are of course talking about Leicester high flyer Riyad Mahrez, who has taken the league by storm.
Calm down though Blues, this rumour was started by The Star, so probably won’t have too much substance to it. I am sure there could be interest from Chelsea as there is from other clubs building up. But Mahrez would do well to stay where he is for a bit longer, especially as his club are so much further up the league that Chelsea right now and that isn’t going to change anytime soon!
The paper says that Roman Abramovich is driving a £20 million offer for the Algerian International, even stating that he has been made the Chelsea owners top priority and a replacement for Eden Hazard. I guess we shall see on this one…
Finally, according to The Mail, Chelsea’s pursuit of wonder kid Juan Familia Castillo from Ajax, is a ‘done deal’ and they have beaten Manchester United to the Holland Under 16s International Captain. Guus Hiddink apparently playing a part in making it happen.
Nothing official here yet for potentially another player to join our army of loan players!
