According to a number of UK press outlets, Chelsea have this morning been given a boost in their £80 million pursuit of Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale. The reports state that the Welsh International has become isolated in the Madrid dressing room and is becoming increasingly unhappy.
I fear this will be a reoccurring story all summer even though the players agent himself has confirmed that Bale is staying in Spain despite the unrest. Once again, really can’t see anything more to this than just pure rumours, really can’t see it happening.
Potentially a more realistic outcome will be the capture of Spanish International Pedro from Barcelona. The winger is said to be subject to a £21 million offer from Chelsea and the Spanish giants are genuinely considering selling. The Premier League champions certainly want to sign a player in this position and Pedro is of a high quality calibre that they are looking at. This one could happen especially with the player being out of favour at Camp Nou and would be a good move for Chelsea. There is interest from other English Clubs but it is The Blues who are front runners.
Finally, Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign Andreas Christensen from Chelsea, who is apparently stalling on a new contract offer from the Blues. The 19-year-old Danish Under-21 International has an uncertain future and Rodgers wants to persuade Chelsea with an offer of around £6 million, according to reports today.
