Good afternoon and welcome to today’s transfer news update from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest potential arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge this coming transfer window.
First off, if reports are correct, it would appear that goalkeeper Petr Cech is on his way to Arsenal with some publications claiming its a done deal. I’d still be surprised if the club allowed him to stay in England but unfortunately if that seems to be the only option then it will happen.
Meanwhile, French publication L’Equipe, are suggesting that Chelsea are moving in on signing holding midfielder Giannelli Imbula from Marseille. They report that Chelsea have watched the 22-year-old on a number of occasions very recently and are appealed by the price tag, suggested to be around £8.6 million.
Marseille are seeking to sell a couple of players and raise funds, it appears that Imbula could be one of the players leaving. Belgium born but eligible to play for France as well, Imbula is touted as being an excellent prospect for the future and has featured for France already at under-21 level.
Eden Hazard is again being talked about in the sense of interest and offers from abroad, this time Spanish publication Fichajes.com are claiming that Bayern Munich are readying a £100 million offer for the Belgium superstar.
Hazard is an integral part of Chelsea football club and their ambitious plans and although their will always be interest, Jose Mourinho will certainly have no plans or intentions of selling Hazard, his best player.
Chelsea are being rivalled from Liverpool and Arsenal in their pursuit of Edin Dzeko from Manchester City. Dzeko has become fed up with sitting on the bench and could be available for around £25 million. The Blues want a striker and are keeping tabs on the powerhouse striker, who might fancy his chances more at Chelsea with only one top striker their in Diego Costa.
Finally the Raheem Sterling saga continues and since Monday evening the winger has announced he will be requesting to leave Liverpool alerting a number of clubs from Europe and the premier league. Chelsea had always been monitoring the situation and it will be up to Roman Abramovich as to whether they will be making their interest formal. It could depend on the Gareth Bale situation but Abramovich would always be interested if a big name becomes available and would love either Bale or Sterling at Stamford Bridge. One to keep an eye on but the England International is highly sought after.
