Good evening and welcome to Friday’s transfer news update from CFCnet where we take a look at the potential arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge as the transfer window is on the verge of opening up this summer.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have made an approach to Monaco over a deal for Radamel Falcao. The striker endured a nightmare season on loan at Manchester United last term but the Blues need more options and fire power up top and are prepared to take a risk on the Colombian hit man and revive his previously successful and high goal scoring career.
Should the clubs agree a cut price fee then Chelsea will certainly be interested in making the deal happen as Didier Drogba prepares to leave Stamford Bridge and doubts raised over the future of Loic Remy.
Meanwhile, it was thought that Chelsea would be put off by the £46 million fee slapped on striker Antoine Griezmann by his club Atletico Madrid. However, it appears their may still be a pursuit according to many press sources this weekend as they claim that owner Roman Abramovich will stump up the cash as the player really wants the move.
Paul Pogba’s future is as ever up in the air and a move to Chelsea cannot be ruled out. The French International is one of the highest rated midfielders in world football today and the Blues have made no secret of being an admirer for some time. They have kept recent interest calm however in an attempt to avoid any bidding wars, it is thought now they are still very much interested in bringing Pogba to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Finally, another striker who will be moving to a bigger club this summer is Christian Benteke. A proven goal scorer in the premier league and one of Aston Villa’s vital performers in escaping relegation this season, the big Belgium international is a sought after player. The blues may well be considering his £32 million buyout clause revealed recently.
