Good evening Blues and welcome to Friday nights transfer news update from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest potential arrivals, departures and done deals at Stamford Bridge this summer.
First of all, Jose Mourinho has spoken at his latest press conference regarding concerns about the lack of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge this summer. On a number of occasions the Manager has said he is happy with his squad but I believe underneath he is working on deals.
My suspicions have been reiterated today with two comments in particular that were made. Mourinho says that Chelsea fans ‘need not worry’ about the lack of signings and that ‘the transfer window is still open’, thus suggesting that the club are still working on some late deals that may even go down to deadline day.
I believe that there will be at least two more new signings during this window.
One of them should be Baba Rahman from Augsburg, who has apparently passed his medical yesterday, according to Christian Falk.
The deal is expected to be announced officially over the weekend and said to be around £20 million.
Finally, the talk of Antonio Rudiger arriving at Chelsea has stepped up once again. Apparently a target during the start of the summer, Chelsea are now neck and neck with Roma to sign the highly rated defender from Stuttgart.
Talksport suggest that Roma has failed with an initial offer, leaving the door open for Chelsea to move in.
That’s it for now Blues, but remember to follow my Twitter here for the very latest Chelsea news @cfcneteditor
