Good evening blues and welcome to Thursday’s transfer news update from CFCnet, as we take a look at the latest possible arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge this summer.
First off, it appears that Chelsea are set to complete the signing of versatile Chilean international Charles Aranguiz from Internacional. The 26-year old play maker had an impressive Copa America and has been a regular for his national side for the last couple of years.
Aranguiz can play anywhere in midfield and also in the attacking right wing position, he has it all about his game as well as being an intelligent tactical player he can also put in a tackle and has immense work rate. The Blues are set to match his £16 million valuation and complete the deal ahead of Arsenal, who are also interested.
Next up, another Brazilian whizz kid is set to finally be announced in the Chelsea ranks in the shape of Fluminense forward Kenedy. The 19-year old will join fellow Brazilian Nathan, along with youngster Izzy Brown in going out on loan, potentially to Vitesse.
Reports state that Shay Given has had a medical at Stoke City today, suggesting that Asmir Begovic’s Chelsea move will go through despite interest from Manchester United. It’s expected that the £8 million deal should be confirmed over the weekend once Given joins.
Finally, Fenerbache are in the process of adding John Obi Mikel to their ranks as they continue to tap up the Premier League for talent. Mikel will once again be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and apparently wants out in search of first team football.
