Good evening fellow blues and welcome to Monday’s transfer news update from CFCnet, as we take a look at the potential arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge this summer transfer window.
Today has bought us many reports of departures in short, with the main talking point being the fact that new Real Madrid Manager Rafa Benitez wants to sign both Eden Hazard and Diego Costa from Chelsea. Well, Mr Spanish waiter, you are not the most popular figure on the blue side of London already so perhaps I should gently remind you politely to back the hell off our superstars…..
In all fairness, anyone in their right mind would be interested in these two, Hazard is joining the elite footballers in the world and Costa is a machine. But I will stick my neck on the line once again here and safely say that if either of these two players leave during this transfer window, then I’ll get Benitez’s face tattooed on my rear end….. THAT is how sure I am that this is purely a no story and a slow press day.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Patrick Bamford and Marco Van Ginkel, both having spent successful loan spells away from Stamford Bridge last term.
The report states that it is a permanent deal wanted for Bamford of around £10 million and a loan deal for Van Ginkel. Personally, I really cannot see us allowing Bamford to leave unless it’s on loan. The kid is one of the hottest prospects in English football and selling him for a mere £10 million would be a really bad idea and highly unlikely, although I am not promising any more tattoos on this one!
Van Ginkel however would be an excellent move, he’s done alright in Serie A with AC Milan but I’d love to see how he fares in the Premier League and at the age of 22, could still have a future with Chelsea if he proves himself in the same league.
Finally, there is talk of our interest in Enner Valencia from West Ham once again. The player himself also says that he has heard of the interest from Chelsea, but is not making any vast decisions on his future just yet. The reports today state that West Ham are attempting to put off any offers for the 25-year old forward by slapping a £30 million price tag on their star man.
This is certainly too much money to fork out for the Ecuadorian and I can’t see any more coming from this one.
