Just days after Chelsea’s emphatic victory over MK Dons at Stadium MK, the Blues will travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.

The Hornets enter the match off of a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. Watford’s manager, Quique Sánchez Flores has the club firing on all cylinders. The team is not only staying afloat in their first season since last year’s promotion from the Championship, but are knocking off top teams.

The last time these two clubs met was on Boxing Day, as both sides took one point from the match. A late penalty miss from Oscar kept the score level and the Blues left two points on the day.

However, Chelsea enter Wednesday’s match with a completely different outlook. Chelsea still occupy a similar place in the table, holding down the 13th spot. That being said, the Blues remain unbeaten under Guus Hiddink, with their top players beginning to find their stride.

Diego Costa has netted 6 times in 7 matches under the Dutchman, while Fabregas has begun to play his best football yet again. Even Eden Hazard looks closer to his old self, scoring his first goal of the campaign from the penalty spot.

Chelsea have the look of a fresh team, one who is enjoying their football lately. Make no mistake, there is much more work to be done in order to fully see the Chelsea of old resurface. However, another step in the right direction would be three points on the road against Watford.

The Blues sit just 4 points behind the Hornets and a win would absolutely help them climb the table. Furthermore, it would keep Chelsea on track to continue winning football matches and regaining confidence.

Look for the Blues to take all three points from Vicarage Road, with Hazard being the standout performer. He is looking closer to his best and will lead Chelsea to victory.

Predicted Lineup: Courtois, Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta, Matic, Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Diego Costa.

Predicted Score: Chelsea 2, Watford 0.

Predicted Scorers: Hazard, Diego Costa
