Spain beat France 0-2 in Paris as Pedro got the better of N’Golo Kante. The match saw the trial of a video assistant referee which meant France were denied an opener shortly after the break because of a missed offside and Spain’s second was awarded after initially being incorrectly flagged.
What the Parisian crowd talked about in the Bistro on the way home is anyone’s guess. Bof.

Asmir Begovic played as Bosnia beat Albania 2-1 but there were no Chelsea players in the Belgium team that drew three each in Russia.
Earlier England age group teams had some success with the U17 qualifying for their European championship in Croatia in the summer and the U20 won a four way tournament in France by beating Senegal. Dom Solanke heading the second.

John Phillips passed away at just 65. John, who came to us from Shrewsbury Town via Aston Villa, was our second string goalkeeper for much of the 1970s making 149 first team appearances. He was unlucky to understudy Peter Bonetti for much of his career with us but played both legs of our Cup Winners Cup semi with Manchester City. 65 is very young to be leaving us but he will be remembered by Chelsea fans.

Saturday 1 April
Chelsea 1:2 Crystal Palace
If you needed a rude April fool then this was it, after two weeks away with no professional football Chelsea slumped against a resurgent Palace.
They looked up for it from the start but Cesc Fabregas ghosted into the box to finish neatly at the near post and we looked to be on our way.
Wilfried Zaha, after years of threatening to turn into a player, finally did something, as he shot through a crowd of players and his effort fluked into the corner.
We were caught on the break moments later and the lumbering lunk that is Christian Benteke managed to chip the stranded Courtois for a Palace lead.
No matter, we thought, most of the game still to go but as chances and possession mounted we couldn’t find a way back in. Palace were having such a gilded afternoon they even resorted to using their arms to control the ball in the box without sanction. Honestly, why couldn’t we have played Palace when they were directionless and lacking confidence? This lot played like a team.
With Tottenham beating Burnley our lead at the top is down to seven points. We go again against Manchester City on Wednesday. Has this affected Chelsea’s chances of winning the Premier League? Find the latest information on this site that contains all you need to know about Premier League Betting.

Chelsea U18 4:3 Manchester United U18
A thumping good game at Cobham with Juan Castillo equalising for us early on, Conor Gallagher bashed in a couple of spot kicks and George McEachran nicked a winner by smuggling the ball over the line with 10-minutes of injury time elapsed. The look on their faces…
