Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are facing a late fitness test ahead of the Champions League final vs Manchester City this Saturday.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that both automatic starters in the final will have a major update on Wednesday to prove their fitness, before flying out to Portugal.
‘It is looking good that he will return to training on Wednesday,’ Tuchel said of Kante who came off early in the Premier League victory over Leicester last week.’
On goalkeeper Mendy: ‘He made a huge improvement with the management of pain from when the injury happened, which is good but of course we will need a further update on Wednesday. We hope to have him back.’
The manager also confirmed in his press-conference, via the Chelsea official website, that Mendy will play in Porto should he be passed fit.
